Honestly, I feel there needs to be a space that is not stuffy, unrealistic, or not helpful in helping others reach their health career goals. I want to be who I needed at the period of my life where I was making decisions regarding my health career. There are many resources available to help those wanting to pursue a career in medicine as a physician assistant, a nurse, a physician, or whichever field one chooses. I wanted to make something authentic, useful, and not break the bank of those wanting more. I would not be able to afford being coached, applying to PA school, and travel to interviews for PA school. I decided to launch my website and share what I know for free with all this in mind!
Simon Sinek, the author of “Start with Why,” mentions the golden circle, including the what, how, and why. He also states that people don’t buy what you do, but why you do it. I wanted to develop something where I am giving back to others. Giving and sharing is essential to attracting quality providers to the field who may not otherwise pursue it.
I aim to provide mentoring to groups of people in cohorts. I have to pray on an exact number, but whatever God puts on my heart. I will also contribute 10% of all sales to a fund I developed to help pay for CASPA fees for disadvantaged and non-traditional students applying for PA school. I will be sharing knowledge, answering questions, and hopefully giving people what they need.
